My life is perfect in its own way!

Hello fellow blog followers. As you have noticed, I have been a little absent in the blogging world lately but that is because I have been very busy. I've been working up in Provo at efy and it has been an experience of a lifetime. However, I am back home now but only for a week. I leave again on Sunday to work my last session of efy. I'm excited but sad that it will be my last.
But in the time being, some would think this would be my week to rest, right?
WRONG.
I've been taking online classes this summer and it is now time for finals. That's right... finals.
So far I've completed a fifty question test and now I have a 6-page paper to write as well as an 11-page research paper all in APA format and I have to finish them this week or else I'm done for. Ha ha just kidding.  But really, they're due next week while I'm at efy so that is why I have to finish them now.
I have I even started writing?
Nope.
Do I have any motivation?
Nope.
I need help.
hahaha... it's fine though, it'll all work out.
And on top of my finals this week, I have to actually have them done by Friday because I'm headed to St. George with my family for a wedding this weekend! Bless my heart. I'm a busy person.
So please forgive me for not blogging about efy. I will fill everyone in on all my amazing experiences as soon as I actually have the time to. Thanks for being patient.
Love you all.
Love,
Kate

ps. I may have just experienced the most perfect first date of my whole life without even knowing it. Details possibly coming soon.

Did you think to pray?

I'm here again but just to share another short thought. I want to be like President Monson:)

"Not a day has gone by that I have not communicated with my Father in Heaven through prayer. It is a relationship I cherish—one I would literally be lost without. If you do not now have such a relationship with your Father in Heaven, I urge you to work toward that goal. As you do so, you will be entitled to His inspiration and guidance in your life."

Have you prayed today?

Kate

"...Yet to be"

Just a quick thought and update:
First of all, yesterday was the fourth of July and it was splendid. I was able to spend it with my two best friends, Tiana and Alyssa, and we ran the Liberty 5k early that morning together! It was so much fun! I love those girls with all my heart. I am so blessed to have such good friends!
Then just so ya'll know-- I'm headed to Provo to be an EFY counselor again for the next two weeks at BYU. I'm so excited!
and lastly... I'll leave you with a nice thought to ponder on:

"We look back to claim the embers from glowing experiences but not the ashes. And when we have learned what we need to learn and have brought with us the best that we have experienced, then we look ahead and remember that faith is always pointed toward the future."

One year of reign+some ramblings

reign    /ran/    verb:
to hold royal office; rule as king or queen.
Although I wasn't the queen, I sure felt like one whenever I had that crown on my head! I can't believe it's already been a year already. Time has flown by...
On the left is a picture from last year at the pageant and on the right is a picture of us last night at the pageant.
I had a blast working with the Miss Richfield royalty and serving the community the past year. It has definitely been an experience that I will never ever forget.
Cute little McKell came to see me yesterday at the pageant. Isn't she adorable!? I love her!
Here is a clip from my performance... haha I messed up at one point but it was fine. I had everyone laughing and applauding anyways so I just thrived off of that. Ha ha if I can make people laugh, then that's all that matters:)
...I don't know if it will work or not. Sorry if it doesn't :(
Anyways!
This past week I have learned a lot about myself and the joy that I receive from serving and helping others. I've been able to help out with the pageant and wow... I have loved it. To see the girls' faces light up and to see them realize that they actually are beautiful is an experience I would never trade for the world. To see them happy made me so happy.
I made these DELICIOUS sugar cookies for the girls who were running in the pageant. They tasted almost exactly like the famous Swigg sugar cookie! Everyone loved them. Oh, and one of the scraps looked like a temple so I decorated it. ha ha :)
Well now I get to work on 12 two-page papers this week. I am excited for the fourth of July though!!! I love this time of year. Can you believe that I will be 20 and a half on friday!? That means that I will be 21 in six months... AND....
that means I can submit my mission papers in two months! I can't believe it.
I'm getting so old.
Also-- Ruth and Eden came over to play for a little while. These girls have so much energy and are absolutely hilarious!
Well, sorry this post is full of everything. My mind is just going crazy right now, it's fine.
Oh! I taught a primary class for my first time today during church. It was my little brother's class of nine year olds. It was a cool experience! It made me super excited to go back to EFY just because I love sharing the gospel and studying it and learning more about it.
I have decided that my life is such a blessing. D&C 4:3 says "If ye have desires to serve God, ye are called to the work" and I have noticed lately how I have been called... For example, EFY! I have desires to teach the youth and to share my testimony with them. Now I am being blessed with three more weeks to do just that and I can't even wait! Not only will I be teaching and helping them, but they will be teaching and helping me.
Also, I have had the desire to serve the the girls running in the Miss Richfield pageant and this past week I have had the wonderful opportunity to help them and serve them. It's been awesome.
I have so many desires and I am seeing them being fulfilled in so many ways. I know that when we are in the service of our fellow beings that we are in the service of our God. And I know that when we serve others, we will find true happiness.
This gospel is so true and it is beautiful and wonderful and amazing. I love it so much.
Love,
Kate
