How Are You Today?

I have to thank my little three year old cousin Oakley Gardner for the impact he has had on my life. He is the sweetest thing and he'll always ask "how are you today?" in the cutest voice.
Let's just say I've kinda picked up on that.
But it really makes me think about the question when I ask it. "How are you today?"
Everyone knows that a typical conversation starter goes something like this:
"Hi, how are ya?"
"Good, how are you?"
"Good, thanks."
The end.
Right?
Well Instead of the typical conv starter, I suggest we all try to really think about what we're asking/saying.. I know it may not seem like it, but it really makes a difference. Being genuine and actually really caring about how someone is feeling or how they are doing is way important.

Well now, that was random. But hey here's a little update on my life:
I had to do preliminary stuff for the pageant. We had to answer a few questions about ourselves in front of some judges and then perform our talent. Fifteen girls applied and they only kept eight for the running and I'm one of the eight. I'm excited to run. It will be a neat experience.
My family is coming down today because our cousin is getting married tomorrow in St. George. I LOVE family gatherings and celebrations! I can't wait to see my family although it has only been five days since I was with them.
My sweet mother will be bringing me a dress to wear in the pageant! (Thanks to our dear friends Kim and Kourtney Smith who provide me with pageant attire) I love when everything seems to just fall into place.

I have been SUPER busy this week with school projects, studying for tests, and doing things with SUUSA for "Club Week." Let's not forget to mention that I will be playing in the powderpuff next week too! Ah hahaha! I signed up with a bunch of friends... come to find out that we have a legit coach who wants to have a meeting with us today. His name is Ben. I don't know him. Ha this is going to be such an interesting experience! But I'm excited.

Oh. And guess what... I was asked to be the class president in my institute class! WOW I'm nervous about it, but hopefully the Lord will guide me.

I best be off to class now.
Here are some inspirational quotes for the day:) Gotta love pinterest.

Have a nice day!

Love,
Kate
