Shh... Be still.

The spirit speaks to those who listen.
This is an experience that one of my missionary friends had the other day concerning the spirit. The spirit told him:
"I am your constant teacher. I always tell you what you should do. Sometimes you listen and you feel happy and joyful and the times that you don't listen and obey you feel sad or upset. I teach you as long as you are alive. Every day all day. Just open you heart and listen." And then I thought and it continued, "and if I teach you all day every day because I love you, then I must also teach everyone else all day every day because I love them..."

I usually receive my friend Elder Chase Adams emails. He is up in Alaska doing a beautiful work and enjoying his time up there. Today this specific part of his email stuck out to me. The power I felt from it was so strong. Immediately the goosebumps tickeld my arms. Slowly the tingling made its way up my arms, down my back, and into my heart. I know the spirit was testifying to me the truthfulness of this little bit of inspiration that Elder Adams experienced. I know that the Holy Ghost is real. I know he speaks to us and guides us in our lives in the simplest ways. I love the gospel and I appreciate experiences that strengthen my testimony.
I challenge each of us to continually keep a prayer in our hearts to search for promptings of the Holy Ghost as we go throughout our days. I know that if we are listening and looking we will be able to recognize those promptings and we will be an instrument in the hands of God in bringing souls unto Christ. Even if it's just a smile, I know that it can change a life.
The gospel is so true.

Love,
Kate

  1. Katelin thanks so much for sharing this story. A friend told me about your post. It touched me! So glad that you can feel his spirit through his letters. He is learning and growing and in turn helping me to learn and grow. Life is good and the gospel is true. Trish
