Ramblings & Thoughts

I have a friend who is leaving on a mission in lets see... about 15 days. I haven't seen him yet. I miss him and wish that we could get together and do some of the fun things that we used to do back in the day, but he is busy working and getting things ready for the mission. He was my best friend for over three years... Some of our favorite things to do were:
Play catch
Four-wheeler rides
Heart Rock
Lunch at the Dairy
Picnic at Elsinore park
Float down the canal
Ride horses
Watch movies
Play guitar
Play games
& simply just be together
But things have changed... that is just what life is about. Change. How we endure it shapes our character. It's what makes us who we are. I know that I am the person I am because of him and the things that I have experienced in life. Life is like a rollercoaster... constantly up and down, and sometimes life throws a crazy turn that you weren't expecting. So I often try to remind myself of this quote:
"Someday everything will all make perfect sense. So for now, laugh at the confusion, smile through the tears, and keep reminding yourself that everything happens for a reason."
When I am reminded that everything really does happen for a reason, and that things turn out the way they are suppose to, I feel better. I am excited for my friend and SO proud of him for choosing to serve the Lord. He is going to be an awesome missionary and the people of Minnesota are going to love him. He is an amazing person and I will always love him.

So until he leaves, my next few blog posts just may be about him because he is constantly on my mind.

Besides that! I've been asked to plan my cousin's wedding shower!! She's "my generation" so it is now my turn to take on the big duty. Plus, I have to start somewhere I guess because I'm getting to that certain age... OLD. ha ha ha
So I have had fun figuring out some games, decorations, and ideas for the shower. I will definitely make a post about it when it happens! (The shower is on Saturday, May 28)
I also get to work tonight at the softball games again! I am a scorekeeper. It is quite the fun little job I must say so myself. I get to speak over the intercom and I have to announce the crazy little children's names that I can't pronounce. It's kindaaaa funny sometimes.
Every morning I sleep in. I hate it. I just have no reason to get up or get ready. BLAH it's so annoying!!!
Oh, and together my mom and I have discovered how to make delicious sticky rice that is similar to my favorite rice at the restaurant Taste of Hawaii!!!! We've made it two nights in a row now because it is so dang good & easy. Yay. It makes me happy.
(It is jasmine rice. Simple as that. With a few tweaks here and there with our "secret" ingredients ;)) ha ha
Well I better stop rambling now.

K bye.
PS. My favorite movie, Tangled, still tends to never get old. I absolutely love it. I watch it almost every single day whether it is right before I go to bed, or if its during the afternoon when I have nothing else to do. Yup yup. Love it.
